In today’s military context, proficiency in English—particularly reading skills—plays a vital role in enhancing communication, access to information, and operational effectiveness. This study aims to explore effective strategies for improving English reading skills among military learners. This study begins by highlighting the importance of reading within military settings and the necessity of targeted language development. It then reviews relevant domestic and international literature to provide a foundation for the discussion. Key challenges such as lack of motivation, limited vocabulary—especially technical terms—and insufficient educational resources in military environments are examined. The main section presents practical strategies including extensive reading, the purposeful use of military-specific texts, the integration of educational technologies, and the design of interactive reading activities. Findings suggest that employing a variety of strategies tailored to the military context can significantly enhance reading comprehension, vocabulary acquisition, and learner confidence. The paper concludes with recommendations for improving English language programs and designing specialized reading courses within military institutions. By integrating theoretical insights with practical approaches, this article seeks to contribute to the advancement of English language education in the military domain.
