The structural and narratological analysis of literary works serves as a foundation for a deeper comprehension of literature by scrutinizing the elements within the text and unraveling their interconnected patterns. Grimas, aligning with other structuralists, adopts Saussure's linguistic framework to explore the universal order of narrative, positing that stories, despite their variations, adhere to discernible patterns and structures. This study demonstrates that the Shahnameh's stories, particularly the narrative surrounding the killing of Iraj and his subsequent revenge against Salem and Tor, exhibit a comprehensive and consistent structural and narrative framework. Despite their apparent simplicity, these stories can be methodically examined and assessed through narratological theories. Chain motifs recur in various Shahnameh narratives, and the hierarchical relationships among fictional characters display a discerning and rational system. This analysis reveals that the narrative structure of Iraj's killing and revenge aligns with the universal narrative pattern, highlighting Ferdowsi's artistry in organizing narrative elements and affirming the narrative and structural coherence of the Shahnameh. This study represents foundational research, employing a "constructivist narratology based on Grimas theory" as the research methodology.
